i'm pretty sure it should be http://192.168.1.1 it is on my voyager 2110 and i'm about 99% sure I didn't change it from the default setting.

Another thing to consider is that maybe you can't administer your router via wireless, only through rj45 cable to connect router to pc

Routers are best administered through a wired connection. Wireless admin is not the best method.

Try
clicking Start -> choose run
enter cmd
Black box opens - type ipconfig /all

this will provide connection info similar to:

The line in bold is the router address, this is what you need to put in the address bar in internet explorer, it will provide an authentification box to log into the router.
I have removed numbers from the above but specifically you need the gateway address to access your router.
If you use wireless and any of the security info is incorrect (eg SSID, encryption) you may be able to 'see it' but you will not be able to connect to it, therefore using the cable to connect directly is the most reliable method. Failing all this there should be a way to reset the modem to it's default status.

As for the laptop what are you using for the wireless connection ?
Built in transmitter or a plug in PCMCIA card.
I take it we are all assuming DHCP is used...

It won't on a voyager 2110 it will bring up a screen with some basic info and one of the options down the left hand side is advanced, then you click advanced again.

It will only ask for the authentication when you try to go into one of the settings to change it ;)

okie, haven't seen one / used one tbh, however the issue of getting to the router still seems apparent, so at least he can find the address it's using by the ipconfig, will a least confirm if it has changed in anyway. ;)

In fact I think the netgear routers use this method for setting changes... real pain in the rear when config changing and messing about with, how many times must I log in .... Oh that'l be every change then ho humm great idea or what ! At least with the likes of others you can apply them test and then continue to change as needed.

Least on the voyager once you've logged in once you stay logged in till you close the browser or logout ;)..

Just pondering the OP's problem did wander if he has an old firmware or anything...

It is possible to telnet a voyager on the same address but I'm not sure that would be a such a good idea as although it gives a menu its not exactly user friendly and i'm not sure if its even possible to adjust the wireless that way.

Well at least the voyager has a better way for setting changes!

Firmware if it hasn't been flashed /changed in any way should still be ok. I remember earlier versions of IE7 wouldn't display my Linksys properly and had to resort to mozilla.

Going through the reset procedure would ensure the default address was there and leave 2 options for access 2 be sorted

Telnet is a shell environment so don't think it would work. The info is sent via http port 80 to the browser window.
Even if telnet was an option we still need to identify if IP used is correct, the the address is being put in the correct place in the browser, can be accessed using a direct cable connection.
