22 children killed in coach crash

Shocking.

At least 28 people - including 22 children - have been killed in a coach crash in a tunnel in Switzerland.

Another 24 children were injured in the crash near Sierre, in the canton of Valais, close to the border with Italy.

The coach, carrying 52 people back to Belgium, hit a wall in the tunnel head-on. Both of the coach's drivers were among those killed.

The children, from the Belgian villages of Lommel and Heverlee, were returning home after a skiing holiday.

I'm puzzled though by reports on R4 news that the coach "Hit a wall head on" Seems a little strange term when in a tunnel?

Though I guess there's plenty of confusion.

There are gaps in the tunnel, presumably for service access, so I presume it ran into the wall at a gap

Such terrible news. My heart goes out to all the parents and families of both the dead and the injured. I can't even to begin to think what they are all going through.
