Dark Matter
Did anyone watch this ?
I thought it was ok as a pilot, I shall continue to "tune in" on it for now. Somewhat strange to see "Bo" as an android. :erm: |
Re: Dark Matter
I did and I enjoyed it. We need more shows in space after Ascension let us down.

It would make a welcome change for SciFi to come up with something worth watching. IMO of course. |
Re: Dark Matter
WAs alright, seemed to be quite a few reused Stargate Universe sets I noticed.
|
Re: Dark Matter
Well it is created by Joseph Mallozzi, so perhaps he had them in his backyard ready to re-use. :)
|
Re: Dark Matter
It was OK, for a pilot. Nothing special, but the fact that a couple of the Stargate guys are behind it is keeping me interested for now.
|
Re: Dark Matter
I didn't notice any sets that could of been from SGU.
|
Re: Dark Matter
Gave it a go, find it hard work!
|
Re: Dark Matter
I watched Ep2 :(
I'm in 2 minds as to deleting the series link now....... |

There is a ton of great SciFi out there but the SciFi channel is interested in none of it. I think they only consider if they can "make a series on the cheap". |
Re: Dark Matter
I'm happy with it so far.

Yep, same day as Wynonna Earp returns.

Re: Dark Matter
My favourite episode by far and I would gladly have seen it as a two parter. I can't believe we are nine episodes in already, this season is really good. As it is made by the SG dudes it is a shame we can't go for 20 episode seasons.
|
Re: Dark Matter
Get your tissues ready........................it has been cancelled. I wish they would let them do a half season at 6 eps to let them wrap up the story line. I hate it when this happens.

Muppets. :(
Renewed Killjoys for two seasons and yet cancelled this. Madness. |

I'm sure it got more downloads than those numbers would indicate for viewers. |
Re: Dark Matter
It had 614,000 viewers for this season, which is more than The Expanse (562,000), and only fractionally less than Killjoys (627,000).
As far as the stupid 18-49 figure goes, it was 0.15, while KillJoys was 0.17 (and The Expanse was 0.18). Wynonna Earp was also renewed (which I'm pleased about) but its figures were only 499,000 and 0.12. Go figure. SyFy make some very strange decisions, both Defiance & Dominion had much better figures than any of the above, but got cancelled. Defiance had 1.125 million viewers when it was canned, over 330,000 more than any of their current programmes, Dominion had 869,000, also higher than anything they currently have. Their current best is The Magicians, at 788,000. |
Re: Dark Matter
The creator has written a blog post breaking down the cancellation from his perspective https://josephmallozzi.wordpress.com...k-matter-fans/
Such a shame it's cancelled but at least he's still fighting to save it, just won't be on Syfy if he manages to. |
Re: Dark Matter
I wish i could win the national lottery so i could give him those 6 episodes
|
Re: Dark Matter
Its unlikely he'll get anyone else to take it on, that just never seems to work.

Joe Mallozzi is expecting an answer today on if another network will be picking it up. Unlike many series Syfy did not have the distribution rights so Joe is free to pitch it to the likes of Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime etc. He requested the backing of fans on social media to show them the support it has and didn't we do him proud! He hasn't said who he's negotiating with (I suspect Netflix) but did say he needed the social media statistics to show them and he got that in spades. His latest blog states he will have a decision today (US time). I'll post again when he's told us. Fingers crossed! |
Re: Dark Matter
OK can't edit my earlier post but here is the fresh news from Joe Mallozzi

It ain't dead until it's stopped breathing! It's also worthy of note that the set hasn't been taken down as yet so still costing money. Joe must be confident to still keep paying for it. |
Re: Dark Matter
Joe Mallozzi and some of the cast; Melissa O'Neil / Two, Anthony Lemke / Three, Jodelle Ferland / Five, Alex Mallar / Four, Zoie Palmer / Android did a Reddit AMA last night.

During the organised twitter storm last night Joe uploaded approx 16 season 3 blooper clips.
I downloaded all of them (or think so) and have joined them into one video. It runs just shy of 13 mins. Here's the link for anyone who wishes it. Season 3 Bloopers |

Re: Dark Matter
I love this series and that second link works pip. It's great seeing the actors laughing and breaking up. Watching the series they all seem to be so serious all the time.
I just hope we get a chance to see a decent conclusion to the series. So many areas that still have to be explained. |
Re: Dark Matter
I'll be uploading another one later a Joe posted I think 9 more clips during Saturdays Twitter Storm. I just have to download, convert and join. A bit busy until later though.
Apparently Joe is expecting an answer today (probably a.m. UK time) Quote:
OK guys got time to do it. Here's the link for the new set of bloopers. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ynhemupkrm...s%202.m4v?dl=0 There is also this link if you want both sets as one video file. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5ro0i4r8zy...s_all.mp4?dl=0 This time I've checked both links work before posting. |

Was it all in vain? Not really in as much as there are a lot of fans who joined #TeamRaza that have now communicated and still have ongoing interaction with like minded other members they may possibly never have heard of or contacted/followed. I certainly will be keeping in contact with many of them. #TeamRaza = family! |

Re: Dark Matter
now that is what I love to see, guys who care about what they do, the message in the series and respect for the fans and the ethos.

What I find amusing is that Jay (according to Joe) is only expecting a couple of hundred letters, since that tweet the deadline has been extended! I dread to think what the postage/shipping costs will be when he ends up with thousands! I hope you're sending a letter, you never know. |

Re: Dark Matter
Sorry but thats just nonsense.
They have many excellent shows ; Sanctuary 12 Monkeys Alphas Eureka Warehouse 13 Haven Defiance The Expanse I could list more. |
Re: Dark Matter
The Expanse is a very poor example given that it is another superb show that they cancelled last year. I am in no way religious but all i can say is thank god amazon picked it up. I think Defiance was cancelled too early as well. I would have liked at least one more season to bring everything to a satisfactory conclusion.

Re: Dark Matter

Sanctuary, cancelled after 4 seasons. 12 Monkeys, cancelled after 4 seasons. Alphas, cancelled after 2 seasons. Eureka, at least managed 5 seasons. (the accepted story arc). Warehouse 13, cancelled and one of the few to be informed so it could wrap the story arc with a 3 ep season 5. Haven, one of the few that managed to make it to the end. Defiance, cancelled after 3 seasons. The Expanse, I think you know where that's going (or gone). So yes, they have had many excellent shows and cancelled most of them before the story arc has been finished or without allowing a mini series wrap up. I could list more. |

Since none of that is in anyway unique to SyFy I fail to see what point you are trying to make. SyFy make (and made) a lot of good shows. |
Re: Dark Matter
To be fair I haven't seen a couple of those series like Warehouse 13 or Haven but cancelled or not, the only series on that list that ended properly was 12 Monkeys. It was cancelled in advance of the final season and they were able to map the whole thing out properly and give it a proper ending. I really enjoyed that series and every episode counted.

Re: Dark Matter
it is a shame because you would think they would want to be the champion of all things scifi and I think in the next couple of years it is going to be a redundant channel as Netflix and Amazon are going to surpass them in both quantity and quality of content.
