Modem mode - replacement router

Hey guys,

I'm on Virgin 50mb and have some issues with the superhub stop responding to requests trying to get into the configuration, so was thinking about putting it in modem mode and getting another router to do the WLAN stuff.

So my question is what is a good one to get? I was looking at some linksys stuff but they do get rather pricey, so was wondering what you guys use and can recommend?

Cheers!

high end router? depends how much you got and what you need. the 615 might be enough for you needs.

I was looking at some TP link ones but worried the wireless strength is even worse than the superhub which barely manage to beem a signal upstairs...TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless-N Gigabit Router for £45 should do the trick I suppose might just order one up.

Or save £40 and get the DIR-615 which does all the same stuff sans the gigabit.

True dont really need gigabit functionality the way im hooked up at the moment, altho could be handy to have it TP link does a cheaper model for £22. No point spending to much money as the new wireless standard isn't far away.

sorry for coming in on this so late but you was heading in the right direction to start off with dude. Linksys are super duper fantastic, I have always had linksys routers. There is a reason they are a few £££ more (apart from having a nice Cisco logo on them) and that is because they kick ass.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Linksys-E150...cp_computers_0

You can also go for the E1200 or E1000 which are £5 cheaper

It isn't working for some reason, not sure why as when I was configuring things I could get to the page...well think I might reconfigure things shortly any way.

when the shub is in modem mode it's address changes to 192.168.100.1 and your new router should be something like 192.168.1.1 unless you change it. During the brief time i had a shub i could still access it through my router and get to the connection tab and look at my power levels and stuff
