Boardwalk Empire is the main attraction of Sky Atlantic for me. Game of Thrones comes a close second though. I'm looking forward to watching both shows when I make the move to Sky. :)

Game Of Thrones.

It's the only show I have watched on Sky Atlantic.

Hmmm...Having said that I think I may have recorded it as repeats from Sky1 or 2.

If that's true it means I have never watched anything on Sky Atlantic. :D

Luck looks very good. There's something about Nick Nolte that draws me in. Never a massive name in Hollywood but he's got an edge to him.

I don't have SKY Atlantic, but with any Luck I'll find it elsewhere.

Is Seinfeld getting a new series, or is it repeats?

There is a pretty decent cast as you say Nick Nolte , Dustin Hoffman , Dennis Farina to name just a few.

Sky Atlantic orders Julia Davis comedy from Baby Cow

Quote:

Sky Atlantic has commissioned Hunderby, a seven-part black comedy written by and starring Julia Davis.

Hunderby was commissioned by Lucy Lumsden, head of comedy, Sky. Baby Cow Productions’ co-founders Henry Normal, Armando Ianucci and Lindsay Hughes will be executive producers. John Rushton (The Royle Family, Sunshine) will produce the series, and Tony Dow (Only Fools and Horses, Nighty Night) will direct.

The series will go into production shortly and will air on Sky Atlantic HD in summer 2012.*

This is Davis’ first series since the award-winning Nighty Night (pictured). She said: “I'm so excited to be making a series for Sky Atlantic, a channel that has so many of my favourite shows from around the world. It’s great to be working with Stuart Murphy and Lucy Lumsden again.”

I was surprised channel 4 managed to pickup the great showtime series "Homeland" but then again sky will outbid them for series 2 like they always do when a US show gets popular over here!

How can anyone compete with skys mega bucks and services like lovefilm and netflix suffer from it with lack of decent content!

Anyway Rant over.

Looking forward to Mad men,Luck, Game of thrones and more boardwalk whenever season 3 starts :)

Sky Atlantic goes mobile in battle for viewers

Quote:

The battle for television viewers has hotted up today with the launch of Sky Atlantic on mobile phones and tablets.

The channel, which screens highly-rated shows such as Boardwalk Empire, is the latest to join the Sky Go platform.

Sky has also announced that Sky 1, Sky Living and Sky Arts will be added next month followed by Sky Sports F1 in March.

And it hailed Sky Go a major success, saying the Premier League matches between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City combined with Manchester United's win over Arsenal attracted 3.1 million views. Sky Go was used by 1.5 million people in December, it added.
Quote:

Sky Atlantic aims to appeal to the “box-set” generation with quality dramas, a large chunk of which come from American station HBO.

With big impact shows including Mad Men, Game of Thrones and Big Love and quirky comedies such as Bored to Death, the channel is only available to Sky subscribers and such exclusivity is becoming ever more crucial.

Currently Sky Go is available on Apple devices, computers and the Xbox 360. An Android app will launch by the end of February, the company said today, extending the reach of the service.

Holly Knill, head of Sky Go, said: “Sky Go is all about helping more people watch the TV they love wherever and whenever it suits them, so I’m delighted to announce the roll out of Sky Go to Android.“

Sky Atlantic to show "The Newsroom"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC8ovJYAU3U

Quote:

Fans of The Social Network and The West Wing rejoice! Aaron Sorkin is returning to his rightful place - television - and his latest offering looks to be every bit as good as his previous work. The Newsroom follows Jeff Daniels as an anchor who suffers some form of Network-esque breakdown in full view of the national media, as he and his news team attempt to repair their reputation. Daniels leads an ensemble cast including Dev Patel, Emily Mortimer and Jane Fonda, and as anyone who saw The West Wing and the much-underrated Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip will attest, Sorkin writes best when he writes for ensemble. Expect walk-and-talks, fast dialogue and an unrealistically high level of conversation when this airs in the summer - and as it’s on HBO, swearing is allowed, meaning Sorkin’s script will be even more entertaining. Sky Atlantic have got the rights in the UK, and it should broadcast not long after the US air date of June 24th.

Sky Atlantic HD washes on German shores

Quote:

German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland will launch German HBO channel Sky Atlantic HD on 23 May 2012 at 21.00 CET. The channel, which will be available exclusively on Sky's platform, will show the new series and productions of the US broadcaster as first-run TV debuts in Germany and Austria.

The first highlight will be the second season of US series "Game of Thrones" which Sky Atlantic HD will screen from 24 May. The third season of "Boardwalk Empire" and other premiers will follow in the forthcoming months.

Sky Atlantic HD will also show HBO series like "The Sopranos", "Entourage", "The Wire", "True Blood", "Six Feet Under", "Band of Brothers" and the sixth season of "Supernatural" at launch, accompanied by feature films and documentaries.

All programmes will be transmitted both in the dubbed German and in the original English-language version. Jack Dee To Host Brand New Entertainment Show

Quote:

Comedian Jack Dee is to host a brand new entertainment show titled Don’t Sit In The Front Row for Sky Atlantic HD.

Don’t Sit In The Front Row is created by former Have I Got News For You producers, and every week Jack will be joined by a host of Britain’s other top comedians to create a new format with no teams, no quiz and a winner from the studio audience.

Five members of the public volunteer to sit in the Front Row, with their lives providing the raw material for the comics. The twist is while Dee knows everything about the Front Rowers the panel knows nothing, creating the perfect opportunity to probe into their life stories in search of laughs.
