The V+ allows you to turn the lights off, Tivo does not, V+ has a "real" red button the tivo does not . I am sure you understand what I mean, AND the V+ has reminders, never mind who`s at fault it still has not got these things. Any plus points of the tivo - which I fail to use or need* still mean in my house V+ has the edge. *ie YouTube

So we have swapped the Tivo & V+ around, So Tivo is now in the bedroom & the V+ is back in the lounge. However as The Tivo has lights on 24/7 it has to be switched off at the mains. I hope that I have made myself clear.:)

Once ( & to be honest if EVER:shocked:) the full red button & reminders are added then I will move them again

My Tivo box is hardly "bright", even with all three tuner lamps on at the same time.

Surely a bit of tape over the bulbs at night would suffice ?

They are hardly big or bright lights at all. One of my TiVo's is in my bedroom and it doesn't bother me. The standby light on my TV is much brighter!

VM got Red button added to TiVo as soon as they could and it works differently to the old system. I think its better having the apps. Change is good :) BBC and Sky Red button will be out as soon as its ready and the apps are programmed.

Again reminders aren't really important to TiVo's functionality its an old legacy feature that a very small percentage of people still think they require, so will not be at the top of VM or TiVo's list of stuff to add.

It states here that the red button has already been added to Tivo?

You must be really sensitive to any light if you feel they are too bright :p: Where you put your boxes in your house is your business, I just didn't understand your comment. I now know what you are saying, although I don't agree :)
