Astonishing.

Not really, he was first choice before

Not as much as if they'd stuck with slav, I was quiet impressed with his press conference to, interesting times ahead

I'm pretty indifferent to him tbh I do think he's been much maligned by people jumping on a band wagon over nothing though

Jim is probably quite well qualified to offer his opinion on David Moyes so it would be interesting to hear his thoughts on him.

I take David Moyes in the round, he was good at Preston and very good for Everton.
The United job slightly overwhelmed him but he did inherit a team that was going nowhere fast and needed major surgery to turn things around.

He wasn’t helped by the people around him at OT, especially Woodward who was very green at the time but has improved since.

The record of English managers abroad is mixed to say the least and I doubt that even Big Sam would have been able to keep Sunderland up last time.

He has enough time to turn things around and I for one wish him well.

He didn't get the support at utd perhaps it was partly his own fault, he spent to long trying to get bale. Was he really that bad in Spain, I heard he took over when they were 15th and finished of in 12th, what were they expecting exactly and he beat Barcelona there. Sunderland was a job he should never have taken, no one should have, fat Sam got lucky with kone and kircoff in his first window he wouldn't have kept them up 2nd time round, that said big Sam was my first choice to take over, apparently he wanted 8 million a season though

The Swiss should be thrown out for providing a pitch in that state for a major game. :(

Oops thank you for correcting me Jim but the same sentiment still applies sadly as you say.

Flurries of reports that Newcastle United have in fact been taken over by Amanda Staveley's PCP group, launching them into the footballing ultra rich :D

It's expected full confirmation will come this week, but the era of Ashley is over!! :woot::woot:

If that is the case Adzii then praise be to god that Newcastle and Ashley have finally gone their separate ways.

Not sure I'd like to see Fernando Torres though. Currently linked with Newcastle and Southampton. Not sure either set of fans would be that keen on it.

Everyone's dog knew the takeover deal was done though, we just wanted it over with for Christmas and to finally wave off Mike Ashley.
