How to remove black marks from bricks?

I thought i would ask here first, before going to a more suitable forum.
Does anyone have any experience removing black water marks from bricks and if so how can i do it? :) |

Brick acid should do the trick :)

A jetwasher (karcher?) is the only thing I can think of as it has gone into the "pores" of the brick?:)

What caused the staining? Is it an acidic water coming from a combi-condenser?
