Virgin Media seem to be doing more to add exclusive new content these days. This one looks good!

Virgin Media is continuing their push into first run U.S. content.

The company has sealed a deal with NBCUniversal International Distribution to acquire the exclusive rights to Bravo’s scripted comedy drama series Imposters, TVWise has learned. The first four episodes from the show’s first season are now available on-demand on Virgin TV, with new episodes being made available every week shortly after they initially air on Bravo in the United States.

Imposters follows Maddie, a persona shifting con-artist who is as beautiful as she is dangerous, leaving her unwitting victims tormented when they realize they have been used and robbed of everything – including their hearts. But things get complicated when her former targets, Ezra, Richard and Jules team up to track her down. While pursuing her newest mark, Maddie meets a potential love interest, Patrick, which threatens to derail her assignment, much to the chagrin of her mysterious boss, The Doctor.

The ten-episode drama series, formerly know as My So Called Wife, is the second original drama series for Bravo after Girlfriends Guide To Divorce. It is produced by Universal Cable Productions and stars Inbar Lavi (Underemployed, Gang Related), Rob Heaps (Home Fires, Doctors), Parker Young (Suburgatory, Enlisted), Marianne Rendón and Stephen Bishop (Being Mary Jane). Uma Thurman guest stars in a recurring role. Adam Brooks and Paul Adelstein serve as Executive Producers.

Imposters is the latest U.S. scripted series that Virgin Media has secured for release as an on-demand box-set. It follows in the footsteps of Starz’s Ash Vs Evil Dead and Magic City; and Audience’s Billy & Billie, Kingdom and Full Circle. Notably, while this is the sixth such deal for the company, this marks the first time that they have closed a deal for exclusive content with one of the six major Hollywood studios.

Further such deals are considered likely, especially given that Virgin has in recent years started sending execs to the LA Screenings. “We’re building a strong and diverse collection of Exclusives, breaking shows into the UK for the first time, so that our customers can discover and enjoy the best TV whenever and however they want to”, said David Bouchier, Chief Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media. “Keep your eyes peeled because there is a lot more to come.”

Ha, ha! You may be right, but I'll give it a go! However, the fact that Virgin are back into the content game is good news. Let's hope they hit on something big soon.
