We need more info on when it happens as it could be a specific app that causes it or it could be a dodgy battery not holding its charge like my Nexus 10 which shuts down without warning.

Actually turning off? Does it restart on it's own, or do you have to power it back on manually?

Is your iOS software all up to date?

Sorry I never gave you more info. the screen was going black but not completely shutting down. I finally switched it off and left it for 10 minutes and it is now so far ok, Hope it stays that way , Thanks,
