A Health Question

Hello Forum members.

I have a health question for you. And l am certain members will be able to answer it.

Over the past six months, my wsife has developed a rash similar to dermatitis. But the GP has said that it could be anything. And has given her a steroid medicine. But the problem is getting worse.

She has been told to continue with the medicine, even though it give bad side effects.

She has been taking regular Asthma puffers as l call them.

She had cancer on the face about two years ago. Which has gone.

The red rash is by her nose and round the mouth. And she doesn't dribble.

Any ideas what it is.

Go back to the GP Arthur, better than anyone on here guessing.

She needs to see a dermatologist.

My wife did after many months waiting and they told her she has Lichen Planus. Cause unknown, no cure, and it can become cancerous.

Arthur, request a second opinion from a skin specialist - get a referral from your GP.

Re: A Health Question

Arthur I would advise that your wife get another appointment with maybe a different GP at the practice, then your wife can raise all concerns and worries then hopefully they might refer your wife to a specialist, your wife could always suggest this, that's if the worry is causing anxiety.

In regards to wife's medication if I were your wife I think I would be tempted to ask for an alternative especially if your wife has persevered with her current medication.

Speaking for myself I know my GP and I tried out a few anti-sickness mediation until we both found one that suited as I really did not like the drowsy side affect of one in particular but I know when things get bad this medication is needed but at least I have a choice as now I have both types prescribed on repeat.
