Firmware update on an Asus router.

My current version is 3.0.0.4.378_4850 which is supposed to be the latest.
Keep getting a notification that a later version is available, but nothing found.
Am I o'k to ignore the notifications?
This is on a RT - N56U

You might try switching one of the Merlin firmware builds. They are based on the ASUS f/w but have fixes and new features added.

One thing: there is a recent ASUS change which affects the ability to go back to earlier firmwares if you have issues. See Merlin's post on this:

[IMPORTANT] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.59 and older not compatible with Asus 3.0.0.4.380_3000 or newer

I am currently running on Merlin 380.59_0 on my AC87U (Router mode) and a Merlin fork version 3.0.0.4.374.43_2-17E8j9527 on my N66U (AP Mode). Both of these are rock solid ...

Yes, +1 for Merlin firmware on my RT-N66U AP Mode. It's never let me down yet :)
