Problem with scripts in Firefox 44.0

Hi again. Can someone please help me with a very annoying problem with scripts, the page hangs and sometimes I have to end Firefox with Task Manager because it becomes non responsive. Here is the message I get.

Re: Problem with scripts in Firefox 44.0
I binned Firefox a couple of days ago because it kept hanging or taking ages to load any page at all. Even when it was gone from the screen it was still lurking in Task Manager and had to be forced to shut.
I tried reinstalling (I even removed its hidden files in Windows). No change. Oddly enough their site was still touting ver43 when ver44 was already out? |

Same problem here with windows 10, as Taf reports end by shutting Firefox down.

Re: Problem with scripts in Firefox 44.0
I've been getting these 'long running script' messages and unresponsive pages again recently when using IE11. They seem to have reappeared after a period of respite and I've had to resort to task manager quite a few times.

Re: Problem with scripts in Firefox 44.0
A few have named Shockwave Flash as the culprit in a few browsers. I've not tried disabling it yet.

Still on FF43 here. I think I will decline the next "upgrade"

Uninstall Shockwave Player ( you do not need it) as this is the culprit .... I did and have no problems now.;)

Re: Problem with scripts in Firefox 44.0
Well I've downloaded Opera now and so far no problems, only thing is I have to have IE as my default browser as I cannot open links in Windows live mail otherwise. :)

Re: Problem with scripts in Firefox 44.0
There is an issue with Java in 42 onwards where the JRE takes up more and more time and then crashes. Not good when your work apps use JRE.

Re: Problem with scripts in Firefox 44.0
Opera uses chrome as its base.
Upgrade to latest Java. |
Re: Problem with scripts in Firefox 44.0
Flash is often the culprit.
I have it set to "Always Ask" so it doesnt run by default, but I can enable if I wish. I also have an addon that allows me to disable Javascript with one click. |
