Still only got 4 downstream channels and 1 upstream tho.

Which part of North West London?

There are 3 or 4 Cable franchises covering NW postcodes,Wembley,Uxbridge ect....

Telewest (United Artists) (Hillingdon,Ealing)
Videotron (NTL/Cable and Wireless) (Barnet,Harrow,Brent)
Cable London (Telewest) (Camden)
Westminster Cable (BT/NTL) Broadband still working for customers having problems finding a new supplier....as of 15-03-2012(Queens Park,Kilburn South)

Yeah but it's still the same franchise which is the former Videotron/Cable and Wireless one covering Barnet,Brent,Ealing,Kensington and Chelsea,Hammersmith and Fulham,Richmond,Lambeth,Southwark,Greenwich,Bexley and I think Merton.

Cable London covers Camden,Islington,Hackney,Harringey and Enfield. This is a Telewest area.

BellCable Media former Cable and Wireless area covers Tower Hamlets,Newham,Redbridge,Havering,Epping Forest,Waltham Forest,Dagenham.

Telewest/General Cable/United Artists/Cable Corp:
Hillingdon,Hounslow,Slough,Twickenham,Croydon,Coul sdon,Purley

Nynex former Cable and Wireless covering:
Bromley and surrounding areas.

So there are many franchises across London which is why certain services are not yet available yet in some places whilst they are available in another borough.

Yea. Mine was Videotron which then turned C&W then went to NTL and now known as Virgin.

Same with Bellcable Media and Nynex, it made Cable and Wireless the largest Cable company in London. Prior to that, Videotron was the largest and covered many areas, it even covered Telephone services in Westminster.

NTL in London was unheard of before 2000

But anyway back to the topic lol Virgin Media needs to get a move on with its rollout for 100mb, if BT Infinity catches up, they will have competition and I know for a fact BT will start a price war!

well under the 100mb roll out plan my area "finchley" on the pdf was gonna go live in May. In fact it went live about a week and a half ago so they're beating their own timetable In this case. I've heard other areas being pushed back a little tho

Finch was pushed back from December 2011 to March 2012 and then to April 2012 and May 2012. Ended up getting it done in March though.

Its no point them beating their timetable though and then ending up giving customers a poor web browsing experience.
