Re: Game of Thrones

this year is the best year for dates as far as returning series go. In previous years we have had to wait ages after xmas for everything to come back and it has been a joke (The Walking Dead still is) but this year everything seems to be coming back quite quickly.

I am still waiting for The Expanse. I am sure the last two seasons started in January but there still is no air date for season 3.

Thats been known about for a while (GoT).

The Expanse didnt start until February last year, and is unlikely to be before that this year.

The third season will air later in the year than season two did. It is expected to be delayed to avoid competition with the 2018 Winter Olympic Games held in South Korea and concluding February 25th.

Or here's a countdown timer.

I hope that is a joke. I cant imagine a universe where i would think "do you know what, i am not going to watch The Expanse this week becauss the winter olympic games are on".

Not officially confirmed by HBO but it looks like GoT will be going back to its roots and will be airing in April:

(from Masie Williams)
Quote:

We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April [2019]. That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes. There’s a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all. We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities

Re: Game of Thrones

I always had it pegged for April anyway - there are only six episodes, so not so many to edit.

What’s in store for the final season of Game of Thrones? Recently, star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau spoke with Variety about filming the eighth and final season of the HBO TV show.

In the interview, Coster-Waldau revealed he’s shot his last scene for Game of Thrones and the cast and crew have gone all out for the final season:

“I’m not 100% done, but I’ve shot the last scene with me. We’ve worked harder than ever before. We spent twice as much shooting these six episodes than we did on two full seasons before. No expense has been spared. We’ve gone all in.”
The whole season is going to be epic and I imagine the sheer scale of the scenes and battles we are going to see are going to take your breath away if they are spending four times as much on it. I bet it going to break some viewing records for having a higher finishing audience than starting audience (or whatever you call it) and probably the most watched series finale ever.

Mmm , might get round to watching this at some point. How long will it take to catch up and what channel is it on?

Sky Boxsets and 67 episodes each 1 hour long. Sounds like a lot to get through but it is an absolute pleasure to watch and you'll need rehab afterwards for the addiction that you are going to develope. I would go so far as to say that it is worth booking a week off work and doing a season per day.

If that doesn't make you want to watch it I don't know what will.
