Down stream light flashing on lan transfers
Hi guys
Not sure if this is in the right section, apologies if not. Are lan transfers considered downstream activity? I ask this since I have recenntly got a NAS and anything that gets transfered to it causes the shub's downstream LED to flash and the counter to increment. I personally would not have thought that through traffic would be counted as downstream activity. Any ideas about why the firmware is doing this? Thanks |

I agree with you it should not but the couter is now reading 123GB. Even if I was downloading stuff from the outside world it could not have incremented from 38GB (last post) to 123GB. Oh well |

I believe there is a known problem with the data usage counter in the SH.

Thanks Sirius and Hugh
I think it probable is for modem mode where you only have one active port, you record everything thing that goes out and thats your downstream. It's counting stuff that goes to all the ports as it thinks it is only one on the bridge. |
