Right, I've just had a look at the insert that came with my Prometheus BD:

It says that the code "may expire 2 years after release".

As for transferring...

"You may need to transfer your Digital Copy to your PC/MAC before moving to your portable device".

Also, I've never had any restrictions with (iTunes) digital copies regarding "only one copy on one device". Download one digital copy, play it on my iPhone, iPad, PC, iMac, Apple TV... It's tied to the account, not the device.

Android uses "Plays Everywhere", a Fox digital copy app for Android.

They're obviously more lenient that I thought :D

Flixster is the more popular app for UltraViolet on iOS & Android, I'm still confused as to why 3rd party's can view UltraViolet and why there isn't just a UV branded app.

Yeah, it works quite well. Tying them to the account is far better for the consumer than tying them to the device.

Not everything uses Ultraviolet - e.g. the Prometheus BD that "multiskilled" now has doesn't use it.

"Normal" digital copies are still more common, from what I have seen, although use of Ultraviolet is increasing, mainly due to Warner.

One trend I've seen, though, is for BDs to now have "BD + Digital Copy + Ultraviolet" instead of "BD + Digital Copy + DVD".

As for Flixster... I wouldn't call it a true third party app... Flixster is owned by Warner, one of the main backers of the Ultraviolet system.
