Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
It's taken a few weeks but we finally caught Ratty sometime this morning, anyway he/she has been doubled bagged and disposed of, now the poison goes down. In the early hours of this morning, my eldest said he heard our rabbit thumping apparently rabbits do this to warn of danger.
Still, don't like the thought of killing any living creature but I also don't like the thought of them coming into my garden at night so needs must, sorry Ratty and friends but you need to go. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be posting this post and I do wonder just how many people have rats living near them well apart from the human kind :D |

Nice den.
Mine is to be back from an away trip that actually had no drama, although I did refuse to travel in the van because of the sweet wrappers being thrown around so travelled in the car Tuesday night and yesterday back home. Never been so glad to see my own bed. |

My youngest is applying for part-time jobs atm while continuing to studies and I must admit I'm so proud of him as many of his friends get paid for staying on at school and get money from the government https://www.gov.uk/education-maintenance-allowance-ema £30.00 weekly.
Why am I proud because when I said to him that this was the benefit was for low-income families and he cannot get it due to our household income, he just said that's good that they get help not once did he say that's not fair and for that, I'm proud in fact I'm very proud of his attitude on who is entitled to this payment and IMO many can learn this non-judgemental view, needless to say, I'm also very proud he has decided to get a part-time job. His big brother drafted up a CV for him so he can apply for jobs and since yesterday he has applied for Home Bargains, Subway (which I hope he does get because of the rubbish pay they pay 16-year-olds) and Tesco. He managed to apply for Home Bargains and subway himself but Oh my goodness Tesco was a nightmare and I was worse than useless tbh as he had to upload his passport, letter from HMRC confirming his NI number so his big brother helped with that :) So now my youngest has a cracking looking CV for a 16-year-old thanks to his big brother plus tips on what to write as he is now adding that travel will not be a problem as he will be travelling So fingers crossed he will get something within the hours he is applying for, so far the job hours for his applications are Tesco Saturday & Sunday 13:00-18:00, subway is a 12 hour contract in where he put in the hours that would suit him, Home Bargains is Wednesday & Friday 16:00-20:00, Saturday 14:00-18:00, Sunday 08:00-12:00. I did laugh at subway's job title sandwich artist :D The Tesco job would be ideal for him IMO |

If you've watched some of the USA food programmes you'll come across the term: Burger Technician. :D
On that subject just got some assorted burgers, beef sausages and French bread out from the freezer to thaw for a BBQ this afternoon. I'll make up a butter, garlic and parsley mix for "cheat" garlic bread: Just slice and toast the bread on the BBQ and put on spread generously. |

My eldest son and my Mum were extremely close and my Mum's passing hit him hard and last week he came to me saying that he wished his Granny was there to see him Graduate and he wanted to in some way include his Granny in giving his Papa his graduation picture, anyway after much thought and research he decided on a personalised Oak picture frame.
He has now bought a personalised oak frame for his Graduation photo which will read at the top To Papa Love Steven with a butterfly design at the side as everytime he see's a butterfly he remembers that during the summer when my Mum watched him both would sit for hours and watch the butterflies in her garden and my Mum would be in fits of laughter when he tried and failed to catch one. The butterfly design he has chosen is this. |

My youngest has his first job interview on Tuesday at 12-3pm it seems it will be a group interview and since his Dad, brother and I have no experience of a group interview we can't advise all we can do is hope he gets it.
One can only hope the interviewer takes into account that he is only 16 and has no experience at all in both interview and work. |
