Men will no longer require a prescription to obtain the impotence drug Viagra and will instead be able to buy it over the counter at pharmacies.
The decision by the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency follows a public consultation.
It will be up to pharmacists to judge whether men over the age of 18 can safely be sold the little blue pills.
I don't need these of course (!), but good news for those that do, or are just plain greedy ! :D

Buying could be a bit embarrassing though. Wonder if you said you were buying for your Gran they'd question it ?? Would the pharmacist ask you to demonstrate the problem ?? So many questions, i'm sure they've thought it through.... ;)

It will be up to the Pharmacist as to who can purchase. They will be asking about any health issues before selling this product.

I'll be waiting for the first cases of death when the buyers don't declare heart or blood pressure problems. Will they sue the pharmacist or the manufacturer? Or both?

If they do not declare any medication or heart problems then it is not the pharmacist fault

It is best that you take your repeat prescription so that the pharmacist can make a proper desiccation.

The pharmacist isn't dessicating anything of mine Ken ! :D

My Dad enquired about Viagra from the Dr. once. He'd had several heart attacks, heart bypass, valve replacement. He didn't get it, surprise, surprise !
My Mother thought he was being a bit over optimistic anyway ( in what way I don't know !)

It won't be easy to sue anyone when you're dead. You could come back and haunt them, of course.

Lawyers will be lining up to take on cases for family I'm sure.
