Digging around cabinets

Walking the dogs today , I noticed that there are holes dug around every cabinet I passed . Barrier marked working for virgin/o2 . Anyone know what the project is

You do realise if people/companies didn’t make something better, you wouldn’t be in a computing device chatting online to people on the other side of the World, don’t you?

Putting fibre in, I'd guess.

This is standard practise and is when they release and replace the hamsters in the cabinets that are running round the wheel to make the Internet work.

Its very likely that this is upgrade works under project Mustang to overlay an XGS PON capable network in DOCSIS areas. The works will include installing a new distribution cabinet next to the existing one and tie-ing it in to the existing duct network.

We stopped using hamsters after the great gerbil incident of 2013. Now we have specially trained rats, just as smart, less lazy and less cute so we don't get as many calls to the RSPCA.

Once the concrete bases are in, the low level covers will appear to protect the spot.

It's so much better now. Not sure what you are on about. The old one was so ancient looking and didn't have half the features it does now. I suppose you still watch in 480p too.
