360: TV Power off issue

Has anybody found issues with this and got a work around?

You can set the 360 box to switch the tv on when the stb is switched ON and to switch the tv off when the stb is powered OFF - using the 'One Power' option.

But what I would like is to be able to turn the stb off but leave the tv on - to use other devices like game consoles etc.

The latest BTtv and SkyQ remotes actually do what I want. So switching their stb ON will switch the tv on too. But a quick press of the stb OFF button will only switch the stb off but a longer press switches the tv off too.

Am I missing something? Anyone found a fix or workaround for the 360?

Just switch off the one power option.
I had to do this as it turned my TV on in the middle of the night m

I've never had it switch on during night - but switching it OFF means the tv will not wake up with the 360 power ON.

I don't think the 360 can act link the other tv stbs.

I have had the SkyQ box switch on the tv overnight - but only three times in several years.

Even where it's possible, it requires the right sort of HDMI cable(CEC?) for it to take place.

Not a cable issue as the box has change cables several times during moves around the shelves.

Disable One Power and press the TV power button when you want the TV to go off?

That's what I do. Works fine

But that is still doubling up on key presses and requires three or more to switch to the 360 if the tv is on a different device.

The problem is really one for those in a multi-device world. Maybe something Liberty think does not occur?

I take it - the answer is a "No from me" ?

Isn't this what HDMI-CEC is meant to be for?

Two short presses instead of one long one? Not much time difference.

It does do what it is meant to. You just have an (unusual?) requirement for it to be optional. Personally I'd prefer the opposite way round - turn the TV off but leave the box on.
