Been using adfree (adblock for droid) for a while & over time it seems to work less & less. Anywho came across Adaway https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...Zy5hZGF3YXkiXQ..

On the apps that serve ads on my phone that had once been blocked by adfree & then ads came back are now blocked by adaway.

Probably the most usfull app I have come across in a while.

Gmote http://www.gmote.org/index

Install Gmote on Droid https://play.google.com/store/search?q=gmote
Install Gmote server on your PC/Laptop/Media centre http://www.gmote.org/server
Configure (takes a minute)
Run on your Droid
Take control with remote control, full keyboard/mouse

Allows you to control PC/Laptop/Media centre (fully) & along with the right video player app (MX or VPlayer et-al) stream media to your android device.
Stonkingly good app & well worth a donate!

My favourites. Colournote great for writing notes. And tune in radio pro, and of course dropbox.

AirDroid - Highly Recommended! Connects your android phone to your PC via wireless. Transfer files from PC to phone or vis-versa. It also lets you send texts, plus loads more features. No software to install on your computer, just the phone app. See the Video

100 Floors - A great entertaining game. Try and find a way to open the lift door to gain access to the next floor.

Dooors - Room escape game. Just like 100 Floors.

Re: Recommended Android apps

I have several books (mobi format) and I'd like my handset (galaxy s2) to read them out loud in much the same way as my kindle does.

Any ideas as to an app that can do this?

There's loads of ebook apps, I use FBReader

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...kuYW5kcm9pZCJd

This supports MOBi ad is free, and very good (I have tried at least 6 other android ebook apps before settling on this one)

It has a TTS plugin too! (Text to speech)

Like Mario Kart on the Wii? Try Tiki Kart 3D. Needs a bit of oomph from your Android device to run it. It runs great on my Galaxy S2 and Transformer Prime

The official SkyDrive app from Microsoft has been launched for android, Not had chance to test it yet though.

EDIT

Just tried it and it seems to work great, no need for me to use Dropbox anymore now i have 25GB at my disposal.
