How do VM target network upgrades?
As title really.
I assume local utilisation feeds into network upgrade planning. As an example, I'm on 350mb, with 24 DS channels and 2 US channels. I could easily just leave the connection saturated 24-7, with QoS to keep it usable, for example pulling an SCP transfer from /dev/random to /dev/null on a work server (with 1gbit 1:1 bandwidth). It seems that, in either direction, this would cause quite a spike in utilisation, and perhaps make me a poor internet citizen, but would this over a period of months make them more likely to add more US channels? ;) |

It's more likely to get them to mark you down as a bad user, and restrict your connection in some way..
