Unfair Dismissal at Bernard Matthews I think

http://www.edp24.co.uk/business/i-wa...ears-1-5000304

I think a new brooms sweeps clean, and bang.

Talk about lack of crae from an Employer. Instead of looking after staff. His wife was Ill and finally passed away.
Had an Injury at work.

He left a production line due to stress, They sack him.

Instead of giving the guy time off work. They issue a warning letter. And then sack him.

This has Constructive dismissal written all over it. What does members think:(

I have been in a position like that.
Employers have a duty of care towards staff.

IF, they knew he was going through personnel problems like he was. Then a lawyer would have a brilliant job.

I am on the Guys side on this one

The employee also has a duty of responsibility to the employer to follow process not just walk off site.

I'd love to know what the disciplinary hearing that was held three days earlier was for, where he received a written warning.

An overly emotional piece of journalism, with no real facts

Bernard's been nasty to his staff. Boycott his Turkeys forthwith. End of.

It's difficult to say. We are hearing one version of events. No idea if there is a Union at Bernard Matthews but I'm sure if he was in it, and asked for representation, this story wouldn't be making the papers.

I know my work has sacked people for less.
