MoCa adapters

Hi,

I've just moved to a new house with Virgin on the houses estate. We are going to be connected this Friday.

There are 2 coxial cables outside the house to be connected by Virgin; one for the lounge and the second one for the master bedroom in the top floor. I think there is as well a coxial cable from the lounge to the bedroom.

There is no ethernet cabling through the house. I was wondering if anybody has experience using MoCa adapter (coxial to ethernet which is only available in the US). So I could connect both rooms via these adapters.

I don't want to use any wifi repeaters or homeplug crappy things...

Cheers,
Ced.

Re: MoCa adapters

Doubt if they'll work with VM. Unlike the US where you can use your own equipment to connect to cable services you have to use VM equipment for the initial connection and run everything from there.

i.e. A VM Hub (or Tivo box if TV only).

the idea is:
VM router --- ethernet --- MoCa adapter 1 --- coxial ---- MoCa adapter 2 --- ethernet

I suppose it could work You'd have to have an appropriate housing outside for the adapter. You couldn't leave it open to the elements.
