How do I turn off the requirement for a PIN on a tablet?
A disabled friend mistakenly downloaded an app that required a creditation certificate at the weekend.
To be able to do this, it said he needed PIN protection. Having changed his mind and deleting the app, it still insisted on a PIN, so he's asked for my help- but I'm not very technically minded! I went into 'security' to turn off the requirement for a PIN and it said that it had been 'disabled by an administrator'. Can anyone help me to get rid of this as it's making like difficult for him? Many thanks. |

Not sure if tablets have such a thing as 'system restore', to take it back to before the app was installed ?

So according to this:
https://android.stackexchange.com/qu...rn-screen-lock You first need to ensure that the app is removed from being a Device Adminstrator, and then clear any security credentials. On my phone with Android 7.0 this is under Settings > Lock Screen and Security > Other Security Settings > Device administrators Then within Other Security Settings choose the option to 'Clear credentials' |

Can be device dependent. Eg Tesco Hudl 2 enforces use of a PIN to encrypt the tablet. Apparently no way around that.
