We'll apart from Andy Murray losing, so far so good, if Lewis cracks it in Canada that will make it an excellent weekend.

Now we have their careers stagnating and going backwards in a series of loan deals to look forward to, such a shame in the wake of a pretty fine achievement

Did you watch the game? Given they come from a country with inflation at 800%, an economy that shrank by 18.6%, that had 28,497 recorded homicides last year and is wracked by massive internal strife that makes last weeks election here look like a trivial event. I though the young Venezuelan team was the equal of England on the day.

Quite a few of the England team are from Everton who thankfully do have a tradition of playing their youngsters but the chances are that most of them will be out on loan. The keeper doesn't even know if Newcastle want him back yet.:(

Chinese party approach Mike Ashley to buy Newcastle United. Mike Ashley is weighing up his options. This isn't rumour I'm afraid, sources have it as a serious possibility and are awaiting updates.

Was only a matter of time before they stopped buying the players and just outright bought a club.

- Talks have progressed for months and papers already have it as Ashley selling the club and finalising the deal. Nothing about the party is known except they're said to be filthy rich and had no issue putting up the money for the club. Other sources claim the party are willing to invest massively in the club rather than buy it outright if Ashley won't sell.

Newcastle unveil £24 million deal with Fun88 (Chinese Sponsor) as the Chinese continue their inroads into the Premier League.
The above was the deal last month, what I didn't quote was the 'rumour' at the time that it was a sweetener for a Chinese Owner, because I thought it was just gossip.
