I've found the iPod touch and iPad sky+ app has thrown some ok suggestions up and the new features coming to it of being able to view your planner , use it as a remote and set series links will make it better still. The TIVO boys on here will enjoy these apps when VM release them for their box.

This isn't an app, but it loads quite happily on my smartphone (HTC Desire) - http://tv.virginmedia.com/vtvapp/epg.do

The apps are better still Hugh a lot more functional , but yes the end result is still the same it sets a remote record up , I'm sure VM TIVO will get these out pretty quick.

I suppose it could be useful but with the never ending promotion of programmes weeks before they start I am not convinced it's something that the masses crave though.

I think 'the masses' would like it; it's a case of how well the functionality is explained to them so that they understand how usefull it is.

I'm not sure how well that will be done though.

Maybe, I think they need to more than like features like that and rather find them desirable as of course you have to pay for them.

I must admit I am finding a lot of the discussion on it's features confusing though. I would consider myself one of the masses so hopefully it will be explained in a simple and concise way, if that's possible.

In the mean time can I recommend TV Guide for the iPad, really great. All it needs is to show the channel numbers too and it would be perfect.

By Sky channels, do you mean Sky owned channels or all channels broadcast on Sky TV?

For eaxample, does it list channels like Watch or Universal?

Agree TIVO has some good features and this is the main reason Sky are implementing these new services. TiVo is keeping Sky busy , with improving their user experience.

Sky has to be careful as TiVo has Patents for a lot of it's features.
