Hi all :)

Well talk ABOUT A BAd last few days.
My 4850 knackered up the other day and now my backup card the 7950gtko superclocked card has artifacted, just my luck.
So now i need a new good gfx card, I'm after a 4870 or an nvidia equal to that for nas cheap as possible as i will have to buy 1 now as i have no gfx card whatsoever.
So can someone point me to the best cheapest 1s please?

Thanks :)

Thinking on getting the 4870 512mb card.
Are these much better then the 4850 512mb gfx card i had?
I can get 1 for 97 quid free delievery.

Why what's up with that game with the card?

So is this card a good choice then?
97 seems a good price from what I've read about the card.

Blackscreens on most systems. For some reason that combination of card and drivers just won't play nice.

I've just been told that i could of gotten a 4890 gfx card.
Is it worth cancelling my 4870 for the 4890 gfx card.
Or should i stick withv the 4870?

As far as I know the 4870 is a sweet card for the price. The Radeon drivers do have issues with a couple of older games but other than that I'm sure you'd be happy with the performance.

from what i can gather the 4890 is abit faster and uses more power as they have added extra voltage to the gpu, to get the extra speed normally about 50mhz or so but not to sure about that not been keeping, a eye on ati as i have a gtx280 and it is still able to play all my games when i come to upgrade my pc again when i'm working and have saved the money up then i will more in to it.

If you buy the latest and greatest you will be fleecing yourself always. I fell into the trap of having to have the best card on the market £350 quid for a 4600TI then £300 quid on a 5900 which was pants so swapped for a 9800pro then £300 for a x800 pro then £380 for an 800xt.Then I went mad and bought a liquid cooled X1900XTX which wasnt worth the £400 I paid and that was it never again will I fall into the trap. I may however buy a second 4870 seeing as they are less than a ton now

135 this cost zing, so I'm more then happy buying it m8.
It will defiantly last me a year n half or 2.
This1 i will defiantly not be messing around with, sick of forlking out for them.
Just hope my e7300 is good enough, ordered a fan to for it so hopefully be able to overclock it past the 3.2 mark.
These go to 4ghz i think the e7300 but my ram is the prob :(
