I'd take it back up with CS as you didn't get supplied with the free one you were entitled to.

It is free o 50Mb and 100Mb so you should be credited back the £30 which should not have even been on the bill in the first place as we have the option of a free replacement or a chargeable replacement, you appear to have been sent the chargeable one.

Call in on 150 and choose the option "thinking of leaving us" and complain about the charge.

rang customer service the fella said i had 7 seven day to try it out but wait until engineer has been to my house as having big problems with 50mb

7 Days to try what? If the USB dongle is free then there is no "try it" option, you get it, you keep it.

There appears to be a breakdown in communication here.

The dongle is only free for 50Mb and 100Mb only no other tier receives it for free and they will charge you £30 for one if you ask for one.

If you look at post 13 I think it can be safetly assumed he is on 50Mb.

It says so in his profile but not everyone is aware of what tiers get what and if charged so an ideal sounding board.;)

I had the same problem with the so called free Wireless N USB Dongle. Spoke to customer services (india) and told you don't get one and it will cost £30. Not to worry straight on to the VM web site and contact us. Click the make a complaint - I choose the email option. Filled in the online form. Explaining in a nice way that I didn't get my usb dongle and the CS person said I don't get one. I did metion that the web site does state it is free for new and existing customers upgrading to the 50Mb option. See VM website on the Super hub: http://shop.virginmedia.com/broadban...s-routers.html The next day they rang my mobile at 8:30 in the morning to sort it out. Anyway they said 'Sorry CS was wrong' will get one out in the post today for delivery tommorrow. And sure enough they had sent it Royal mail special delivery before 1pm (cost them £5.20 by the way)..
I was out, so had to pick up from post office the next day!!.

But I must admit VM Cust Service got it wrong :td: but the response from the complaint email was 5*.. :)
Happy new 50Mb VM user.
