If it was precautionary (as they had oodles of time on the 3rd place runner), then it's only fair to do it for both.

That team is getting no more competitive and is actually slower than it was in its second year and seems to keep changing ownership. |

Nico won the race with a little help from his friends. Merc made sure Nico won by getting hamilton to stay out longer than he should, Nico was running almost 2 seconds faster than Hamilton after his pit stop but the pit wall told Hamilton to stay out until it was almost impossible for Ham to catch Nico. Similat thing happened in 2 previous races to make sure Nico finished 2nd in the Championship.
