Re: what will I be getting?

The centre of this capital city (Edinburgh) is stuck on 4Mbps ADSL with no FTTC or cable in sight.

(That's despite them wasting over a billion digging up the roads for the trams debacle, they won't allow BT or VM to dig them up for actually useful infrastructure)

Re: what will I be getting?

well it's installed and the speed test is saying 25meg

Re: what will I be getting?

Just to say that I was in the same position as the OP (ie on 10mb paying the same as someone on 30mb) so I called retentions.

I am now on 30mb with a free SuperHub and paying around £3 less per month. RESULT!!

One small point, though. Shouldn't my upload speed have tripled too?

Re: what will I be getting?

upload will increase when your areas ready although because yours isnt a double, you can call in and moan and ask for them to push 3 up to you

I thought that might be the case.

"push 3 up to you"

What's that in English? ;) You mean play dumb and say "my upload speed didn't get tripled; why not?" Was thinking about doing that anyway :)

thenry 02-05-2012 19:41

Re: what will I be getting?

no not playing dumb. this upgrade you've taken up is your own choice, its nothing to do with the doubles so you can moan and say the new upload uplift for the new doubles is something different to your upgrade. ask them to escalate it to complaints if they don't do it.

Re: what will I be getting?

Still not entirely with you. However, my point is that, regardless of anything else, should my upload speed not have been tripled as well? I thought I read on here that VM had a 10:1 down/up policy?
