Or cheap contracts they supply the councils so just incase the streets need digging up they've always got there way around the planning permission and way out of MATV contracts. Everyone knows how much Virgin Media hates MATV contracts, what a waste of money!

I can imagine, technology changes and then something else comes out then the residents and councils bother Virgin Media about upgrades and improvements which costs more money.

Then when tennants move out, they either take the equipment with them or dispose of it which costs more money

Master Analogue TV contract, it's a contract between a Cable company and an organisation such as the council or housing association to provide Analogue or even Digital TV to the residents of that organisation.

For example, rather than the council spend millions on installing communal aerials and dishes, the council would make an agreement with Virgin Media to provide access to Analogue or Digital TV basic channels BBC1,BBC2,ITV1,Channel 4,Channel 5,ITV2 ect...

The cost would come out of the residents rents or building service charges something like 89p per week per household.

MATV contracts are usually done in areas with problems getting decent TV reception.

With Analogue, if too many people use the system at the same time, it is known for the picture quality to become poorer.

The same cost is charged by councils for those with an communal aerial and dish known as a Integrated Satellite Reception(IRS).

Currently, if you plug in your TV directly into the Virgin Media Cable socket, you will pick up channels 1 to 4, this will end in most areas as the contracts to do so with local authorities comes to an end.

Milton Keynes, the service is billed directly to the customer and costs £4 per month, it is no longer possible to have the set top box service in this area, those with a set top box can still choose some available premium channels with there service.
