Spanish 902 number
I want to call a Spanish 902 number which is their equivalent of our national call (0870). I get a message saying 'the number you have dialled has not been recognised'.
When I queried this with Virgin, I was told the number is out of order. This is not possible as the number is for the Spanish electricity co. The second time I called, I was told that the number is barred on all Virgin landlines because it is very expensive to call. I find this amazing as I am left with the choice of using my mobile which will be even more expensive or asking someone if I can use their non-Virgin phone!! Do Virgin bar calls to national numbers in all countries? Any comments, suggestions or help with this would be very much appreciated. Jennie |
Re: Spanish 902 number
As far as I know you can't call national rate numbers from abroad. Companies using such numbers ought to provide a geographical or local rate number for access from abroad. Have a look at the website of the Spanish utility to see if you can find an alternative number.

Re: Spanish 902 number
Thanks very much for your reply.
They don't have any other numbers on their web site and I have tried e-mailing, but no reply. However, I have just found the Spanish equivalent of 'Say No to 0870' so I'll get translating! Strangely, I can get through on my mobile, but I don't really want to make a long call to Spain on it. Thanks again for your time. Jennie |
