TV Service down in Falkirk area

The TV service has been down in the Falkirk area for about 3 hours now. Called Virgin but no real updates at this time.

Does anyone know what the problem is, and when it might be fixed? My Dad and brother where supposed to be coming down to watch the boxing with me :(

More problems in my area. TiVo has been down since last night due to:

"intermittent connection issues on your broadband internet service"

I can't watch any channels and all of my planned programmes didn't record :(

This isn't the service I'm paying for. I can however still watch the V+ in the bedroom but that is not the point. Twice I've had this issue now in the past 6 weeks. I'm beginning to lose faith in Virgins ability to deliver a stable television service.

If this keeps on happening, can I cancel my contract with Virgin for the TV part of my package? I'm in contract for about another 7 months.

Yes you can cancel your contract but there will be a charge to pay, I think its 7 months x your monthly fee (for TV) + a fee for breaking a contract early

Even if he is not receiving the service he is contracted for?

I am. Regardless of what they might try to tell you, you can cancel. At the very least you should complain and expect to receive compensation.

TV came back on about 2 hours ago. I'll give Virgin a call tomorrow to register my feelings.
