Good. Two can play that game. Why should we dance to America’s tune every time they demand extradition, when in the Harry Dunn case, they refuse to extradite Anne Sacoolas to face charges for the death she caused by driving on wrong side of the road.

I sort of wish that the Courts could give that as a reason.

Important thing to note is that the judge shredded Assange's lawyers assertions about why (legally) he shouldn't be deported - it was basically all about his mental health/suicide risk (the US didn't help themselves, as their max security solitary confinement (which he is most likely to be in) were fairly horrific.

So in theory, I should be able to commit a load of crimes, including rape and mass murder, and simply say I'm scared of being found guilty and of the prison conditions?
He is the one that has prolonged matters, nobody else.
The UK has refused a higher proportion of US extradition requests, than the other way around.

The US, in the judge's conclusion, can't stop a mentally unwell man taking his own life in those conditions.
So which mythical conditions could ever do that?
Yet another in the never ending line of decisions, where legal definitions are distorted to fit the desired result.
Looks like we can't send people for trial in Spain.

A British chef facing trial for the savage Costa del Sol murder of a 'gentle giant' Irish holidaymaker has been found dead in his jail cell.
Prison warders discovered Leigh Anthony Gardiner lying lifeless on his bed with shoelaces he is thought to have used to strangle himself with round his neck.
The 51-year-old was put on suicide watch after his June 2019 arrest for the murder of John Pender at an Irish pub in the popular resort of Fuengirola.

Unless laws and rules are being selectively applied.

Quote from The Sun: Wikileaks founder Julian Assange can be extradited to America to face espionage charges after the US Government win their bid to overturn a High Court Ruling.

Assange, 50, has been fighting extradition to the US, but today the court ruled in a sensational U-turn that he can be extradited.

His lawyers have previously argued that he is a high suicide risk and is too ill to be sent to America for a trial.

US authorities brought a High Court challenge against a January ruling by then-district judge Vanessa Baraitser that Assange should not be sent to the US, in which she cited a real and "oppressive" risk of suicide.

Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett, sitting with Lord Justice Holroyde, today ruled in favour of the US after a two-day hearing in October.

But the US has given assurances Assange will not be held in a notorious "supermax" jail.

Lord Burnett said: "That risk is in our judgment excluded by the assurances which are offered.

Julian Assange denied permission to appeal against extradition

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60743322

Quote:

The Supreme Court has refused to allow Julian Assange his latest appeal against extradition to the US.

A court spokesman said Mr Assange's application did not raise "an arguable point of law". The decision is a major blow to his hopes to avoid extradition.

The Wikileaks founder, 50, is wanted in the US over the publication of thousands of classified documents in 2010 and 2011.

His lawyers said he had not ruled out launching a final appeal.

The case will now go back down to District Judge Vanessa Baraitser, the original judge who assessed the US's extradition request.

Home Secretary Priti Patel is then expected to make a final decision. If she approves the extradition, that is the stage when Mr Assange could make his fresh challenge, said his lawyers Birnberg Peirce.
