FA Cup 2016/2017
City have a very strong side out tonight.
Very interesting stat in paper today, four out of five of the last straight red cards for West Ham players have been rescinded on appeal. Wonder how many points that may have cost them? |
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Move to new thread for FA Cup.
We have a whole forum now, we dont everything in one thread ;) |

Not looking good for Slaven after tonight.;)

The reds second team proved far to strong for the Royals however I would describe what I saw as profligate. Could and should have hit double figures given the chances.
Goes off to look for the Johnstones Paint Trophy and Oldham Sunday League threads. :D ---------- Post added at 18:00 ---------- Previous post was at 16:01 ---------- Goodness me, Preston could have been three or four up by now. |

Good to see Barrow beaten by Rochdale. Dirtiest team since Leeds circa. 1973.

Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Well it looks like Liverpools second team is not as good as Uniteds. :)

Oh dear Jurgen. It must be very windy at Anfield today.

Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Jurgen Flopp. If only there was a Europa League tournament for them to be knocked out of this week, then they'd have done the treble.
|
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Yep, that's the only downside, out of everything bar the league now.

Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Apparently - Indignant high pitched screeching reached 200 decibels at Analfield.
and - Superb possession stats 1 - 2 Wolves What a fantastic week! |

Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Doesn't bother us much, we needed a draw or defeat and Brighton to draw. They lost too though so not entirely great. (Due to 3 away games in 7 days, a draw for either or a defeat for one would've remedied this)
As it stands we're no better off. :erm: ---------- Post added at 17:39 ---------- Previous post was at 17:04 ---------- Quote:

Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Surprised we're ahead tbh. I thought we would lose today, even more so when I saw the team, but Southampton are playing a weaker team too.

I laughed when I saw the ten changes to our previous outing.
The tickets for the run out were cheap for a reason. The hacks are tossing themselves off at a supposed fantastic arsenal display when there was no opposition....go figure lol I'm more than happy with the way the last week has gone :D |

Well if United play like that this afternoon (as they did against MK Dons) a couple of years ago I would be extremely dischuffed, abject display from Saints given their mid table position, no need to rest players.

Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Fortunately, since my team is so poor atm, the FA Cup is not a worry (again).
But if I were one of the teams still in it, I would be very irritated by this habit in recent years of putting out weak teams. :td: If I pay to watch my team, I expect them to put out the best team possible, especially when a trip to Wembley cup final is in the offering. |

There are fixtures tomorrow and Wednesday which forced a lot of teams to rest players. |
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Yeah, Sky booked us is for a few TV slots matched with the already absurd schedule leaving us with QPR on Wednesday and shortly after we have 3 away games in 7 days because of TV picks. We had pretty decent depth at the start of the season, it's faded away with sudden injuries to 3 of our 4 strikers and combined with the desire not to get the likes of Ritchie, Shelvey and co injured we fielded a youth/fringe team albeit with the Serbian brute leading the line.
We still should've beat Oxford but truth be told, they were hoping for a Draw or a Brighton draw, as long as one of us drew the result would have been a happy one and ruined Sky's TV picks and resolved this fixture mess. |

Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Liverpool now have to play just 16 games till the end of the season, Chelsea a maximum of 19, City, Arsenal and United will have to play nearer to 30.
To play Premier league games just two or three days after FA Cup games is forcing teams to massively rotate their squads, even those with bigger squads to start with. In the 15 days before the EFL Cup Final United will play 3 games and the Saints none, just doesn't stack up. |
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
And once again all the top five teams avoid each other, fishy or what?
|
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Just ain't the same any longer -you expect the non league team to win when the professionals put the under 12's out. I blame Sky, the Champions League and the Premiership.
FA Cup RIP. |

This can go to extra time? When did they get rid of replays for the QF?
|
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
A new innovation this season. Think they want to bring it in for all FA Cup games.
And a fourth sub allowed in extra time as well. ---------- Post added at 21:51 ---------- Previous post was at 20:54 ---------- Easy draw for City, :) How many years is it since four of the top five got to the semis? |
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Chelsea v Spurs
Arsenal v Man City |
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
I'll take that.
|
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
After Mings getting a five match ban, Rojo must be looking at the same for his disgusting, deliberate stamp.
|
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
I quite agree, I wonder if Costa deliberately elbowing DeGea in the nadgers will get looked at as well.
|
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Costa is a terrible. He should have been sent off for Diving, and feigning injury. And again goes down in the box after being tackled. And even the commentator apologised if viewers could lip read
Oliver should have been braver and sent him off. Chelsea have become nasty challengers and the touchline with both Manager going at each other. Just goes to show how bad this football game as come too. |
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Rojo for three I reckon, obviously 5 would be keeping in line with recent events. He bottles it though, whether that matters, it's a stamp but there's no massive stamp on Hazard, Rojo bottles it, thinks better of it then flops.

United charged with failing to control players. No action against Rojo as ref said he saw incident and dealt with it.
After his two incidents of wild, two footed lunges earlier in the season one wonders just what he has to do to get dismissed? |
Re: FA Cup 2016/2017
Faceroll from the FA, just add this to the list of the reform disaster.
