I have almost finished my decorating, nearly ready to put the house on the market. Anyone after a four bedroom house?

I'd love to move to Cornwall. I fell in love with St. Mawgan/Mawgan Porth.

Trouble is synchronising finding jobs with a cross country move is difficult :(

Returned to PT yesterday to have my daughter for the weekend, only been away 2 weeks but it still feels odd - staying as I'm compering a show this evening then driving back to Leicesterland tonight :)

Only a stone's throw from the airport, and if you want to get away from the rat race this is the place to come punky. We are only selling because we can't manage the garden, and the house is just too big for us. But we won't be moving far. :)

I have had a pretty decent day, sat around on my backside and watched tv for the first time in ages. Tomorrow we are going to my gf's family farm to try and cure my fear of cows.

Was going to make a topic to ask but as I am in a good mood I wondered if anyone here used Play.com as I have 5 £1 Mc Donald's vouchers if anyone wants them?

You probably got charged as a percentage of the hourly rate - I think that is about £500 per hour.

I found that one hard Dilli. I find swapping between the alphabet and the grade 2 abbreviations frustrating and end up with scraps of paper with the most bizarre interpretations littering my desk at the end of it. At one point I translated a couple of words to be about a USB duck. I had visions of your computer quacking. :D

Thumbs up to you for seeming to take to Braille like a duck to water.

Nice. My neighbour's got a Cube mountainbike, but he's still jealous of my GT and Trek, so he's getting himself a hybrid as well. :)

He will correct me if I'm wrong but afaik he relies on two main technologies - screen magnification & various flavours of 'text to speech' -e.g. standard 'touch typing' (voice feedback)

- & lastly the braille keyboard.

Firstly, I don't mind anyone asking so don't worry about it.

The thing you have to remember about blindness Is it comes in lots of level. Only about %4 of blind people can't see anything at all.

My eyesight is extraordinarily bad and meets the legal definition of blindness.

Luckily that means I can get away with software on my pc / phone that zooms the screen much larger and reads everything out to me (think of a Stephen hawking voice).

I'm learning my braille now before things get too much worse so I can use a braille keyboard like gazfan mentioned. And for books of course as I miss my reading.

I do have a white stick and dark glasses but only need to use them depending on various things including how familiar with my surroundings I am or how bright or dark it is.

Looks like gazfan summed it up better than me though :)

Anyway enough about me.

Yup so I put something there under my Sig every now and again for people to work with. My screen reader can't read it as its only a picture. But the more people who are aware of braille the better as far as I'm concerned.

On the other hand I've heard that the usual study leave for year 11 has been cancelled at my favourite school(when they thought they were leaving last Friday). It's made the students unhappy and the staff furious because it was decided at the last moment.

Same here, Since I lost my job at the end of last year I have lost about 1 1/2 stone.

I have tried losing it or done any exercise, but I have only eaten less than I would have had at work.

That was the whole problem - far too many charms. I actually went into 'boob shut-down'.

Finally upgraded to a core i7 720 cpu new board and mobo

I am seriously impressed with this CPU my old 9450 clocked to 3.2 gig coulc manage just about 3 instances of convertxtodvd at once source and destination seperate drives. I couldnt do much else on the pc and each instance would take approx 45 mins to and hour.

This cpu can handle the 3 with headroom to do anything else and finishes in 15 minutes flat . Seriously impressed

Keeping Dilli under control was fun :D

Went to Blackpool for the first time yesterday, loved it. The weather was amazing, was with good friends and had a cool evening. My only gripe was it caters a bit too much for the Stag/Hen night market but still, this morning there was a parade along the front for the ex RAF old boys, complete with a fly-by from a Spitfire :)

Actually, sounds like Dilli feels the same as my sister. She had major surgery on her spine in 1994, and as a result was wheelchair bound for a long time (a couple of years IIRC). She was actually uncomfortable when people tried to work out what was wrong with her (I think it was mainly the amount of staring and whispering they seemed to do while trying to work it out) and preferred that people ask her directly. Kids were apparently best at this, as they don't have the same ideas of tact adults have, so will not feel uncomfortable about asking.

My happy thought? A few this week.

First, and most importantly, a friend of mine gave birth at 5 to 3 Thursday Morning. Mother and Baby are apparently doing excellently, although the Mother was knackered. Hopefully I'll go to see them soon, when things have settled a little bit (they made the mistake of moving house while she was in the final trimester of pregnancy, so are apparently still sorting things out).

Second, I had a damn good barbeque to go to yesterday (which is why I couldn't attend the meet, they organised it to celebrate my Birthday next week).

Third, I've just managed to get MediaCoder to access my GFX card properly (it can use Nvidia's CUDA technology to encode using the GFX card). As a result, I am able to watch Speed on Blu-Ray and encode video at two point fives times normal playback speed while only using around 75-85 percent of CPU time.

Edit: Just been looking at a few things, and I think the reason MC is limited to 2.5x speed is simply that it's reading video from my NAS which is on a 100 meg network..

I'm happy that one of my brothers I haven't spoken to in like 6+ years is actually speaking to me now :D

He even came and said "hello" to his nephew for the first time today :)
