DPlay is just a rebranding of QuestOD.

According to the article, it takes content from content Discovery’s six free-to-air channels, including Quest, Really, Quest Red, Home, Food Network and DMAX.

QuestOD already had content from their non-Quest channels, the only new content is from Really and Home, as their stuff was still on UKTV Play until DPlay rebranding. At least that has been my understanding from articles I've read, I've only ever used their catch-up via VM, which didn't use the QuestOD branding, just the individual channel names.

So is Dplay coming to Virgin?
I saw Fifth Gear was available on Dplay and was disappointed to find that, even with everything on Virgin, I still couldn’t watch it.

The new name for QuestOD. So the On-demand service for some of, but not all of, Discovery's channels.

W4Free is launching in the UK. It is an AVOD service and as such will help to reassure those who are concerned about the cost of so many streaming services coming that they cannot afford.

This could be popular on Virgin Media if they decide to add it to their platform.

EXTRACT

W4Free has become the latest AVOD service to launch in the UK.

The free-to-view platform offers a “curated mix of short form lifestyle, crime, movies and tv series.”

I guess it depends on the films and the TV series. It'll probably have the same kind of material as Pluto and of course there will be ads.

Accordingly, it is not for me.
