I have a Colonoscopy every year :( and have only ever been offered sedation / pain killers. Ketamine works well for me, I know I feel uncomfortable/pain during the procedure but the level of pain is just not in my memory. It's a tad like selective amnesia.

In all honesty it's the prep that I hate, all I can advise is that the less you put in at one end for around 24 hours before you start the prep the less :erm: 'work' the prep has to do.

Cheers for the advice :tu:

Don't forget I'm on morphine for my legs so hopefully it'll not hurt to much. I do want to get sedation though.

I am sure you will get sedation. Just remembered another thing. It is almost certain you will have someone to hold your hand, in my case it is usually a nice Motherly nurse with a soothing voice.

The downside is that there is normally an attractive nurse stationed at the business side of the table helping the Doctor and being talked through what is showing up on the screen. I just wish that just once I would get to hold the hand of the young, handsome Nurse and have the more mature nurse staring at my bum. :D

Yes those preps are only half the story!
Friend has major probs top end of bowel, twice they had to stop.
Now on a sensible diet plus 3litres of water a day.

Thoughts are with you dilli, just remember to do as I did just say stop if it gets too much for you!
I did on my first procedure, I was told that a smaller probe would be used next time.
(True to form the next time no discomfort was noticed)

Sounds pretty prejudiced and not a little puerile to me... Even by your standards that's pretty poor but maybe that's just the English in you coming out eh?

Best of luck to you Dilli. I feel quite ashamed to be worrying about my op knowing only a little of what you've been through over the years. Stay positive and best of luck! :tu:

Just picked up my first pair of varifocal glasses and as expected i am having great trouble looking at a computer monitor and reading!

Any tips i have only had them on 30 mins but close up stuff is a blurv and finding it hard to decide whether to move my eyes or head?

You'll be like a nodding dog in the bag of a car. :)

From experience give it at least 2 days for your brain to get accustomed to the signals from your eyes. As far as moving your head or eyes it depends where the screen is in relation to keyboard. I move my head down to see the keyboard but is slightly blurred.

But my latest have cut the distance prescription to below the legal limit for not wearing glasses for driving.

He will be having some great adventures though, and with the wonders of modern technology (facetime, skype, FB messenger), we will be able to keep in touch.

You'll probably see and hear more from him than if he was still here. :) I dare say being self reliant will also focus his mind on just how much mum and dad have actually done over the years... ;)

Oh dilli not the most pleasant thing to have, I personally found the hardest part was the movi prep the day before. They gave me light sedation and the procedure for me was not too bad at all it (hope you also find this to be the case) Hugs and best wishes to you.

Laptop cooling stand finally went kaput overnight. And for the first time since March, had to put the central heating on. Like an icebox it was!

I have variofocal lenses but bought a cheap pair of single vision glasses to use for computer.
I kept getting headache when doing dtp, games were a complete no no.
