Re: Virgin Media will launch a new set-top box

It look like the new boxes we was told about 13months ago.

We feel some viewers will not be happy about the extra per month they will need to pay if they want one.

We still trying to work out the box posted online (It one of two).

It looks like VM's version of Sky's mini (non 4k) box to me.

Well the sooner one knows about the costs then the better one will be able to make a decision.:)

so is the v6 box 4k

Only confirmation so far is Netflix and Youtube 4K but I would expect Sky 4K as well if it supports 4K anyway

We have the price list on stand up - just need to get an DNP order remove.

Looks alright to me. Its just a rounded cornered square box and at least one third smaller than the present TiVo. Do we want a 3D printed lattice structure that hovers on a magnetic base. Of course we do.

10 pound a month a bit steep but may come extra goodies to make worth it

No, just something that actually works for a change.

Do you know if these "new" remotes actually have typeface on them that doesn't rub off this time?

That was fixed years ago, wasn't it?

I got my tivo and its remote around 2 years ago and the letters came off after a few months.

And the "new" remote looks exactly like the old one, so don't know and hence the question.

If you say it was fixed since them, then that's good.

Wouldn't surprise me if all the current bundles were refreshed&renamed and you have to re contract to get one of the new boxs.

You can either stay on current tivo + new bundle (eg new customer)
or
You can re contract to get new tivo + new bundle for £49 install and then pay an extra £6 a month for the UHD channels.

The new bundles will be £1 - £4 more expensive so in effect on the XL TV package with UHD you will pay £10 a month more....

.... wonder if I'm even close to right :)
