Hi-can you be a bit more specific about your problem please?

Also, have you contacted ntl about your problem(s)

Welcome to the site btw. :)

Hi alex_walke and a great big warm :welcome: to nthellworld.co.uk m8 :)

If its just web browsing that is slow then you could be on a bad proxy server. You can chnage the proxy server by following this thread - http://forum.nthellworld.co.uk/showthread.php?t=8783

Its allso worth running some speed tests from this link - http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d.h.walker/speedtest.html

Post the results of the speedtest and some tracerts if you can.

It's been flakey down here (Southampton) as well.

Yesterday my connection dropped every 5-10 mins from 11am until the early hours, though it's much better today.

3rd 128K took 1650 ms = 79438 Bytes/sec = approx 661 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 1820 ms = 72018 Bytes/sec = approx 599 kbits/sec

That's a bit unfair. I can't speak for the Customer Service since I haven't spoken to them, but my 1Mb service has been nearly flawless since it was installed.

thats why its my opinion :P

i also have the 1MB service and my traces at weekends make me want 56k back...we are talkin 2000-3000 latency in games. i am currently in the process of getting adsl back as i play games more than is healthy and am a gamesmaster for a certain game, its not fun not to be able to go online at peak times when you are required to.
