What's wrong with IE? (except for it not showing quotes when reading this forum on a mac?)

I've tried to resolve my isses with IE on previous posts. Links will not open. Getting too many errors. The list goes on. Have suffered long enough and just need a change

Go with Mozilla - no ads (unlike Opera). It's got tabbed browsing which is a great improvement on IE. If you don't want the full package including email and chat, you can just download the smaller Mozilla Firebird. Its based on the same Gecko rendering engine.

Enjoy,

Martin

Just dont go for Netscape, the Mozilla source code that is used in it is ancient compared to the source code available today. Netscape have fallen way behind. ;)

or you could try the Avant Plug in for IE it has quite a few options including a built in popup stopper amongst some other useful features

Tried Mozilla before myself but then got rid. I didn't see the point in having two browser's installed on my machine one of which of course you can't get rid of becaise the operating system needs it (IE6)

Perhaps you should have said "the operating system has been written to malfunction if it cannot detect IE" There is no operating system in existence that "needs" a web browser to operate the computer.

Either way you are right. Trying to get rid of IE is a nightmare. Shame really, as Mozilla is a far superior product (IMHO).

If you want to get rid of IE, try 98lite (http://www.litepc.com/) . These guys PROVED that IE was not embedded into Windows and have developed a fix.

Either way, instead of the full-blown Mozilla, try out Firebird (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firebird/release-notes.html)

I happen to quite like Netscape and am now using 7.1 which is based on the same code as Mozilla 1.4, which is the latest full release AFAIK.

Everyone obviously has their own favourite. Mine is Smart Explorer http://www.smarteque.com/.

Much faster than ie, multiple windows with tagging, selective closing etc.
Try it!

Good man!..

I use a combination of Mozilla 1.4 and IE.

I use Mozilla because it is fast, does pop up blocking and the mail client is excellent.

I use IE because some pages just don't display properly without it...

I've just installed mozilla (thanks for the link yesman) I'd reccomend it, only 10 mins of browsing and checking e-mails makes me think that outlook and IE will be "collecting dust" for quite some time.
