Apparently, Microsoft have built a digital kitchen. Every item of food is tagged, so that the various devices can recognise the food

For instance, when you take items from the Fridge, it recognises what you have taken and can re-order it. The Microwave (and presumably cooker) recognise what you have put in and cook it for the appropriate time.

Now, we come to the irritating bit. The worktops.. Apparently, these recognise what are trying to do, and, based on what you place on the worktop, offer recipes and help (which can be projected onto the worktop or read out to you).

And you thought the Office Assistant was irritating...

What's on the menu tonight then?
Starter: A BSOD lightly fried in butter, served with 'Not Responding' Rice
Main: Internet Explorer security flaw on a bed of Blaster worms
Dessert: Unsigned drivers topped with cream

All served with some non-open sauce...

And, of course, all the food needs to be "activated" before being eaten (Don't want pesky users pirating food y'know)..

And if you choose to install a Mac OS worktop, the menus just won't display properly.

And of course Red Hat are currently preparing an Open Source kitchen, which will offer better security on the Fridge, and the Microwave will be less likely to blue screen and overcook/set fire to your food..

One advantage of a Microsoft kitchen. When it blue screens, it would turn a fetching shade of blue.
