You cold always for a pedigree name.

I have a 2 year old German Shepherd and according to its pedigree name is called -
"zachiriabenjaminnavigationalexanderthegreat" or "Zac" for short.

Or alternatively a friend of mine has the same breed called "Rolf"

When I questioned how he named him, he said well when we bought him he looked up and and that was the first thing it sounded like he said "rolf".

How about "Deefer"

Flubflow
30-01-2004, 01:25
DEEFA is a good snappy name.

When people ask you why? You say, "Dee fa dog of course" (D for dog).

I once knew someone who had a girl dog called Beefa and a cat called Ceefa. Rather barmy really.

Edit: Sociable is reading my thoughts again. Beat me to it. ;)

30-01-2004, 11:01
Given that the dog is man's best friend (after woman, that is!!) how about calling your dog 'Diamonds', which also has a best friend connotation.

Alternatively, I'd suggest 'Max' after the Hart to Hart character played by Lionel Stander.

It might help you to try saying the names suggested and hearing which ones sound right bearing in mind you could be saying that name in public.

Chopper.

Great name, saw the film the other day.

30-01-2004, 14:04
How about "Saxy" (anything that sounds like "Sexy")

Then when you walking the dog, and you see a nice lass, you can shout it out.

If she smiles at you - you could be on to a winner :naughty:
If she gets cross, you can tell her that it's your dog's name

Oh - just remembered that you just got married, so not a good idea!

CaKe
30-01-2004, 14:09
No name ideas, but try to find a name that can't be shortened too much, or a name with no nicknames attached to it - it makes training so much easier when you haven't got each member of the family calling the dog something different :)
