Those little hooks on the front and rear of cars are not for attaching towropes, although 99% of people think they are and use them for that. They are there so that they can be fixed to the decks in containers on ships so they dont move about when being transported.

That reminds me of the story of two Americans who tried to steal a cash machine by chaining it to their pickup - only the cash machine stayed put and pulled the bumper (fender) off. Panicked, the guys drove off in a hurry - forgetting that their licence plate was still on the bumper. :rofl:

If you look closer the hook was not on the bumper, it was on the end of the chassis and the truck ripped the end of the chassis leg.

Result car=FUBAR.
