They'd make far more money (and IMHO be far more useful) if they similarly enforced rule 216.
DO NOT park partially or wholly on the pavement unless signs permit it. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs, the visually impaired and people with prams or pushchairs.

i agree they should enforce that rule, i see too many motorists who misuse the curb mainly men!!!

but i think the new ruling is fair for all you should not have the car away from the curb at a sizeable distance,you can potentially hinder traffic depending on where you park,and expect a huge crunch of a car crash,involving your car. :)
