The screen:

The mounting:

Selecting music:

What do you think? It looks like a nice clean setup. I wouldn't mind trying something like that.

Scary isn't it? Unless somebody modified their car to look like Barney

First link leads to a story about a guy who has set up a PC in his car I think. The rest of the links probably pointed to the rest of the pics on that page but they have since been changed I think. (Or maybe someone was using cut n paste for the kids and didnt clear the clipboard before pasting the links LOL)

Have a better example of an extreme setup linked to transport though just have a look at this one :)

Mind you I think the more likely system setup used by the regulars here is probably closer to this one. :)

We aren't allowed to use mobile phones while driving. I somehow feel a console like that would be more of a danger :)

OK fixed now. Note to self: don't be lazy. Always use own webspace for direct linking.

Actually in the UK it is illegal for a car to have a tv/video screen visible to the driver (unless IIRC it's one of those that only shows the view from a rear mounted camera in place of a rear-view mirror)

if it was, then satellite navigation systems would be banned, as they use screens, a associate of mine has a screen and xbox in his car, no problems with the law yet

IIRC "information systems" ie sat-nav are excluded because it's not information that you would keep watching and be distracted by instead of looking at briefly before returning your attention to the road.

Some googling finds a number of interesting links such as

[QUOTE=kronas]your second link relates to the US,

Duh! [Memo to self: Check you've cut and pasted the right link!]

Try http://www.famousfour.com/acatalog/incardvd.html

Although, having said that I can't actually find anything that *specifically* excludes TV/video screens except for the general provision from the Highway Code:

128: There is a danger of driver distraction being caused by in-vehicle systems such as route guidance and navigation systems, congestion warning systems, PCs, multi-media, etc. Do not operate, adjust or view any such system if it will distract your attention while you are driving; you MUST exercise proper control of your vehicle at all times. If necessary find a safe place to stop first.
Laws RTA 1988 sects 2 & 3 & CUR reg 104

By the looks of the first photo, I'd guess that the owner could be Bob the Builder. :)
