We've never had turkey..... it's not culturally traditional for us.... but we did used to have roast veal for years :erm:

I had two bowls of homemade ravioli in brodo this year.....

we had a small turkey
for two and a half of us (nephew doesn't eat much so he classes as a half)
so dad and i are using the rest tonight for a curry

i spoke to my friend on xmas morning (as i was running round preparing the meal) and mentioned i had to go because i was cooking the turkey...which he found highly amusing and begged me not to cook him (he's from turkey)

Wow I'm the only person that hasn't got any left makes me think the size was right 8lbs for 3 adults (that eat a lot). The legs/wings etc. were chucked out though cannot be bothered with the old soup, curry etc. thing - Just frozen 1.5kgs of beef cos couldn't face another meal today... Had mince pies with ice cream and cream for dinner!!!

Anyone fancy a chocolate (we've got over 12kgs of the stuff)

The turkey was about 6lbs.
There was eight of us.
About half of it is left.

Trouble is, there was also a joint of beef and a leg of lamb.
The dog had the last meat (and bone!) from the lamb and I had the last of the beef in a sarnie earlier, I guess the turkey just wasn't as popular.

Had a turkey joint, apparently feeds 6-7 with stuffing and bacon on top.
I was going to do it, but she who must be obeyed decided that I'd screw things up (WTF?) and would be a martyr and do it all herself.
So she screwed up the timing and the turkey wasn't ready in time (cos she didn't read the box. apparently the best cooks don't  ) so she had to nuke it.
The veg was so flavourless (no idea how she managed that).
So I'll be glad when I get back to my parents and cook myself a proper meal

I'm normally vegan (out of choice, and it ain't because I feel bad, it is purely for health reasons, I still like the taste occasionally), but for Thanksgiving and Christmas turkey is a must. We had a big bird, I don't know for how many people. We were 16, and there were left overs. We also had ham, and all the trimmings such as stuffing, cranberry jam, and pumpkin pie. :D
