My friend (16) got his driver's license recently, and his parents decided to take some of his money, and add a bit, to get a car for him. A car that is quite decently priced. It is a 1962 Cadillac. A huge car. Longer than the Dodge Ram pickup, and wider too. V8 engine and I shudder to think the gallons per mile it guzzles. The idea is to hide it in the back yard (hide?! the think is as large as a city block!), and give the keys to him on Christmas. He will probably be driving to school occasionally. Just imagine going to school in that boat.

What was your first car? :D

Mine was basically a Dodge Neon 1996, standard transmission. I learnt to drive on that little car.

My 1st car was a Renult 12 TL (when you pass your car test here in the UK the first year insurance is very high/expensive so its a good idea to by a small cc car unless you have loadsa money), i also had a red Suzuki GS 750 water cooled (nick name the water bottle) the bike had a reputation for tank slapping and it had very little ground clearence when riding around bends/corners i always used to scuff my dr martins on both sides (they didnt last very long), with no lessons and 1st attempt i passed my car & motorbike test on the same day :)

LMAO

OK Here goes, mine was an Austin A40 built in 1953 just like me. :)

I named her "Mildred" and anyone who has ever owned a truely old car like that will appreciate the absolute necessity of giving such a car a name. :)

Oh btw the cost of my pride and joy was £30. (Less than the cost of a tank of petrol these days.)

My first car was a blue ford escort, I bought it in 1981 and it was about 8 years old I think.

Me too, MKII Escort - With a cortina 2.0 engine. Was also blue. Log book said it was beige and had a 1.3 engine! - Kept it 11 days before trading it in for a fiesta. Used to use a tank of petrol (55 litres) on two trip to work and back (80 miles (total for the two trips)).

If you get a Robin don't follow my Uncle's advice on its capabilities.

He tried to tow his boat with one and it is interesting to note the effect additional weight on the back has on steering.

Needless to say the boat floated but the Robin sank. LOL

If I can remember which of the rivers it was in I will let you know. For all I know it could still be there and if nothing else the fibreglass shell should still be intact, water is about the only thing that didn't break that. :)

Adds a chocolate £1 to the collection plate.
